Tea party for kids posted by martha on 3/30/08
We just had our first tea party for our daughter's 3rd birthday. This took place in March. The weather was beautiful for a garden tea party. We arranged table & seating (kids sized) We decorated the ambiance with soft spring colors. Flowers were abundant in the garden already and added pink roses as center pieces. Each child had a personal seating card. The menu consisted of Peanut butter ham & turkey sandwiches, fruit, cookies and cup cakes. We served iced tea. We brought out the good china. (it never gets any use) The guest wore their Sunday best. Boys were also included, and they sat at the gentlemen' table. We added to the ambiance soft classical music. The girls wore crowns, and the boys wore ties. (OBTAINED FROM THRIFT SHOPS)
GAMES..
PIN THE HANDLE ON THE TEA CUP
THE CINDERELLA SLIPER.
SECRETLY WE COLLECTED BOTH SHOES FROM THE GIRLS. EACH BOY RECEIVED A SHOE AND NEEDED TO PRODUCE THE OWNER.
THE DRESS UP GAME.
WE GAVE EACH CHILD THE SAME AMOUNT OF PIECES OF AN OUTFIT AND TIMED THE FASTEST.
THE TIE KNOTTING CONTEST.
EACH FATHER RECEIVED A TIE. THE MEN LINED UP AND COMPETED FOR SPEED AND ACCURACY
MY DADDY IS THE FASTEST.
THE SAME GAME WAS REPEATED. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS WHEN DADDIES WERE PLACING THE TIES ON THEIR SONS.
