Don't waste your money on cheesy decor from party shops.... (like the banners that say happy birthday, confetti, or streamers . . . No one really likes them and they just add to your trash pile at the end of the day.)
Instead, use food and drink items to decorate with. Have vases, wine glasses, and other serving dishes filled with colorful food/drink for your decor. You save money and you feed your guests at the same time!
Examples:
Have candies that say "Happy ____" and put them in a pretty dish instead of a banner.
Using wine glasses with different heights are great for decor! Turn them upside down, after filling the glass with something pretty, and set a candle, cup cake, apple, or candy on it.
Your home is pretty enough as is, and will only look cluttered and trashy with the cheap papper decor. You spend a lot of time and money decorating your home, so done waste your money cluttering it with trash! Just use food and drink items to accent your beautiful home with the colors/theme of the party. That way, your gests notice your lovely home, the food and drinks you provided, and not cheap and tacky decor from a party store.
