picnic (or anytime) punch posted by Lisa on 5/22/08
Very simple and you'll be a hit anyday. My father used to make this "punch" and I have carried on the tradition with my family. It's a refreshing orange/lemonade!
In a gallon pitcher you mix a packet of lemonade Kool Aid and a packet of orange Kool Aid (unsweetened) then add 2 cups of sugar, fill the pitcher 1/2 full and stir well. Take one orange and one lemon and cut each in half. Squeeze the juice from one half of each fruit into the pitcher. Cut the other fruit halves into thin slices and drop them in the pitcher. Fill the pitcher the rest of the way and stir well. Chill until ready to use. When the punch is gone everyone will be fighting over the fruit slices - even the lemons! It looks very pretty in a punch bowl too, so in that case you'd probably have to make at least 2 gallons. extra orange or lemon slices floating on top is very pretty, and so that guests can actually fit a slice in their glass, I usually cut my fruit slices in half before I add them to my pitcher/punch bowl. The extra squeeze of juice from the fruit gives it extra flavor. But be prepared...once you make it everyone will want it time and time again. (You can use a package of the sugar free Kool Aid in each flavor if anyone is watching their weight or is diabetic, then add the fruit.)
